Established in 1986 by the American Holistic Nurses Association, the Charlotte McGuire Scholarship is a unique opportunity for students pursuing holistic care to get money for their education. To qualify, students must be in the holistic health field and have a GPA of at least 3.0. Students must also be a member of the association for at least six months. Due to a large endowment, the amount of the scholarships vary with each applicant.

The Alice Newell Joslyn Medical Fund Scholarship was established by the BECA Foundation with the goal of providing San Diego's Latino community with a way to fund their pursuit of employment in the health care field. In order to qualify, a student must be Latino, interested in working in the Latino community upon graduating and be financially needy. The amount of the award ranges between $500-$2,000 per academic year.
