Adult Nursing Scholarships

According to the American Nurses Association, nursing is one of the fastest-growing professions in the professional world. With the number of various nursing organizations and avenues for student funding available, it has never been easier to earn a nursing degree. There are myriad scholarships and grants available for aspiring nurses in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral nursing programs.
  1. ANHA: Charlotte McGuire Scholarships

    • The Charlotte McGuire Scholarship Program (CMGSP) was established in 1986 by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA). The scholarship helps gifted aspiring nurses with their educational and professional development. The scholarship is named in honor of the founder of the AHNA, Charlotte McGuire. The awards go to nurses who choose to follow a holistic path, taking a patient's mental, as well as physical and psychological, well-being into account when considering the proper course of treatment. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA, must be members of the association for at least six months and have experience in the holistic field. The final amount awarded, due to a large endowment, varies with each individual case.

    American School Health Association: School Nursing Scholarship

    • The American School Health Association provides scholarships to aspiring nurses who intend to work with in the field of youth health. Nurses pursuing bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees are encouraged to apply. Students who aspire to work in elementary, middle or high schools as nurses are the target applicants. The association awards three $500 scholarships annually. Additionally, students must be pursuing careers in school health education, school nursing or pediatric medicine.

    C.R. Bard Foundation Nursing Scholarship

    • The C.R. Bard Foundation Nursing Scholarship is a grant offered to nursing students in New Jersey. The foundation is a medical supply company dedicated to providing the medical community with new technologies in the areas of urology, cardiovascular medicine and oncology. The award recognizes aspiring nurses who excel academically, personally and psychologically. Several scholarships of $2,500 are awarded to qualified students annually.

    Alice Newell Joslyn Medical Fund

    • The Alice Newell Joslyn Medical Fund is a scholarship for a Latino student pursuing a career in the medical field in San Diego County, California. The scholarship is available through the BECA Foundation, a company that provides financial assistance to Latino students. In order to be considered for the scholarship, you must be Latino, interested in someday working in the Latino community, be financially needy and attending college in San Diego County. The award amount ranges between $500-$2,000 per academic year.

    American Mobile Healthcare Annual Scholarship Program

    • The American Mobile Healthcare Annual Scholarship, in partnership with RN.com, is available to students pursuing a BSN or an MSN degree. Students must be current traveling nurses and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must also get two letters of recommendation from two professional superiors and write an essay on the importance of obtaining advanced degrees in the nursing field. The award amount varies with each candidate.
