Scholarships to Become a LVN

There are many scholarships available for students pursuing a career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Aspiring nurses will find a wide array of scholarships offered by corporations, non-profit organizations, charities, schools and the local, state and federal government. Students will encounter three educational scholarship types: need-based grants for those that are low-income, scholarships for particular areas of emphasis or major, and merit-based awards for the academically inclined.
  1. C.R. Bard Foundation Nursing Scholarship

    • The C.R. Bard Foundation Nursing Scholarship is available to an outstanding nursing student by the C.R. Bard Foundation. Qualified applicants must demonstrate academic accomplishment, be involved in their local community, attend an approved New Jersey college or university, be pursuing a degree in the nursing field and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The award is generally $2,500 per academic year.

    Genevieve Hope Blaney Scholarship

    • The Genevieve Hope Blaney Scholarship is available to a deserving student at Salem State College. Qualified applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, must be studying nursing and must demonstrate leadership potential. The award is between $1,000 and $2,000 per academic year.

    American Holistic Nurses Association Charlotte McGuire Scholarship

    • The American Holistic Nurses Association Charlotte McGuire Scholarship is available to a nursing student by the American Holistic Nurses Association. Qualified applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, be pursuing a degree in holistic nursing and be members of the association for at least six months before applying. The award is between $1,000 and $2,500 per academic year.

    Alice Newell Joslyn Medical Fund Scholarship

    • The Alice Newell Joslyn Medical Fund Scholarship is available to a promising nursing student by the BECA Foundation. Qualified applicants must be female and of Hispanic heritage, be pursuing a career in the health care field, be low-income and must plan on working in the San Diego community upon completion of their program. The award is between $1,000 and $3,000 per academic year.
