Nursing Scholarships for Students

The field of nursing can be challenging, rewarding and ultimately profitable for those who choose to purse this career path. However, to become a nurse you need special training and certification, which can be costly. Luckily, many nursing scholarship opportunities exist in order to fund your educational goals. Some of these programs offer scholarships in exchange for a work commitment upon graduation.
  1. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Nursing Scholarship Program

    • The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services offers a nursing scholarship program through the Health Resources and Services Administration. These scholarships pay a student's full tuition and other necessary fees, as well as the cost of other required items such as books and laboratory supplies. A monthly stipend is also provided. Students must agree to work a minimum of 2 years at a health care facility with a critical nurse shortage upon graduation in order to receive the scholarship. This opportunity extends to students pursuing undergraduate baccalaureate degrees, graduate degrees, associate degrees and diplomas. Preference is given to nursing students with exceptional financial need.
