The Maryland State Nursing Scholarship and Living Expenses Grant is available to Maryland residents enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in-state. The program provides scholarship awards ranging from $3,000 to $4,500 for selected students who demonstrate academic excellence. Awards are automatically renewable for recipients who remain in good academic standing. For every year the award is received, students are required to serve for one year in an eligible Maryland healthcare institution after graduation.

The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing Merit Scholarship provides half-tuition awards to qualifying undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, leadership skills, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Awards are renewable for those recipients who remain in good academic standing. BSN students who plan to enroll in the MSN degree program must reapply for the graduate scholarship prior to enrolling.

The Southern Maryland Hospital Center sponsors a nursing scholarship for nursing students enrolled in ADN or BSN degree programs. Scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 are awarded to students who demonstrate a strong background in academics and leadership as well as an interest in acute care nursing. Recipients must agree to a minimum one-year service commitment with the Southern Maryland Hospital Center after graduation.

The MidAtlantic Cardiovascular Foundation provides scholarship awards of up to $2,500 to Maryland nursing students enrolled in accredited ADN or BSN degree programs. Applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA and a demonstrated financial need. The Charles County Commissioners Office sponsors a scholarship program for residents of Charles County who plan to attend an accredited nursing program in Maryland. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $1,000, and selection priority is given to those students who are previous recipients of the scholarship. The scholarship program requires students to complete a service obligation for a period of two years in an approved Charles County healthcare facility.
