Scholarships for Colorado Nursing Students

There are several scholarships to help students defray the costs of an undergraduate or graduate education in nursing. All have different criteria, including financial need, academic achievement and community service involvement. For more specifics, contact the scholarship organization or ask the college or university's financial aid office about nursing scholarships. Colorado offers several scholarships for working nurses or for those who plan on a career in nursing.
  1. Colorado Nurse Association scholarships

    • The Colorado Nurses Foundation, Friends of Nursing and Alpha Kappa Chapter-at-Large, Sigma Theta Tau offer a collaborative scholarship for nursing students. For details and applications, visit http://www.coloradonursesfoundation.org/.

      Colorado Nurses Association DNA #30 awards three scholarships annually. Two $500 scholarships for nurse practitioner students and a $500 scholarship for a nurse educator student.     Scholarships for currently enrolled nursing students

    • Sigma Theta Tau offers scholarships for nursing students attending Regis University, the University of Colorado at Denver and the Health Sciences Center. For information about scholarship categories, visit http://www.sttialphakappa.org.

      Colorado Health Care Association for Human Resource Management awards two annual $1000 scholarships to students enrolled in a Colorado nursing program. For more information, visit

    ROTC Scholarships

    • An Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) scholarship pays for the major share of the nursing student's education. Eligibility depends on a willingness to enroll in an ROTC program and commit to a period of military service after graduation.     Federal Loan Repayment

    • To address the shortage of registered nurses, the federal government's Health Resources & Services Administration Division of Nursing offers scholarships, loans and loan repayments for registered nurses or nursing students. HRSA reimburses up to 85% of student loans for nurses who work in areas it designates as having a shortage of nurses.
