Educational departments within the University of Tampa offer various scholarships to students. Students majoring in government, world affairs, international and cultural studies or those pursuing a pre-law concentration can apply for the Government & World Affairs, Pre-Law scholarship. This scholarship provides an annual award of up to $3,000 and is renewable for four years. Eligibility is limited to first-year students admitted for the fall, with a GPA of 3.2 or higher and who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
The Life Science scholarships award up to $5,000 per year to life science majors. This four-year renewable scholarship is open to students majoring in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, environmental science, forensic science or marine science. Eligibility is limited to first year students entering the university in the fall who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have a high school GPA of 3.25 and a 1200 SAT score or 27 ACT.

The University of South Florida, or USF, provides scholarships for admitted freshman students. New students who are Florida residents may apply for one of the following University of South Florida Scholarships:
The USF Tradition of Excellence Awards provides scholarships to students who are National Merit, Achievement or Hispanic Scholars. Awards range from $36,000 to $48,000 over the course of four years.
The USF Presidential Scholars Award provides a $16,000 scholarship, over a four-year period, to students with a GPA of 4.30 and higher and a minimum SAT score of 1380 or ACT of 31. Non-resident students can also apply for a USF Tradition of Excellence Award. Students who are National Merit, Achievement or Hispanic Scholar are eligible for payment of 100 percent of the cost of tuition and Merit Scholars also receive payment of room and board.
Non-resident students can also apply for the USF Green & Gold Honors Award. This scholarship awards $42,000, over a four-year period, to students who possess a GPA of 3.80 or higher and a minimum SAT score of 1300 or ACT of 29.
As of August 2010, students must have applied for admission to the university by January 2 in order to receive any of the listed scholarships. Students may only accept one of the listed awards, however, students can apply for and accept other scholarships outside of those listed here. Florida College offers Academic, Endowed and Departmental Scholarships to students. The President's Scholars scholarship awards full tuition to freshman students who have a minimum GPA of 3.65 and are a National Merit Finalists or Semi-Finalists; Valedictorian or Salutatorian; and have a minimum ACT of 32 or 1410 SAT.
The Dean's Scholars awards $2,100 annually to first year students with a minimum 3.65 GPA, as well as, minimum 32 ACT or 1410 SAT. The Achievement Scholars awards $1,000 annually to students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and an ACT score of 23 to 27 or SAT of 1060 to 1230. Florida College automatically determines whether a student is eligible for an academic scholarship when processing the application.
