Scholarships for Acting Colleges

Scholarships for acting are offered through college theater programs throughout the country to prospective students. Institutions such as The School of Film and Television's New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and Purdue University prize the discipline such that each offers multiple scholarships to prospective students.

    • The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (NYCDA) holds an annual National Scholarship Audition Tour through which two scholarships are available to acting students. The first of these scholarships is the Sanford Meisner Merit Award, which is awarded solely on the basis of talent. The second award, The Mary Doyle Memorial Scholarship, is awarded based on a combination of merit and need, and is given in amounts between $500 and $10,000. Students must fill out a FAFSA form in order to apply for the scholarships, which are available solely to future or current NYCDA acting students.
