Minority Grants for Graduate School

Many fields of study lack diversity and minority representation in research, teaching and other areas. To help minimize this shortfall, several organizations offer grants in the form of fellowships and grants to minority students. Many of these programs award aid that covers full tuition and fees, as well as stipends and internships.
  1. Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship

    • The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM) is a group of business schools and corporations that sponsors a fellowship program for minority students. Students who apply and win receive financial support covering the full tuition and fees for the two years it normally takes to earn an MBA degree. Students file a common application and can choose six schools from among the 15 members of CGSM. For most of the schools, if the student applies for a CGSM fellowship, he's not required to complete the school's MBA application. A student must submit a resume, recommendations, two essays, transcripts and GMAT scores. An in-person interview is also required.

The Predoctoral Fellowship supports the research of doctoral students for three years; the Dissertation Fellowship provides one year of financial backing for the dissertation work of Ph.D. candidates. All applicants must be U.S. citizens, possess an excellent academic record and be committed to teaching in higher education.
