The Resolve to Evolve Scholarship Program provides scholarship assistance to nontraditional and returning college students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study at an accredited college or university. Up to five students are selected annually to receive the $1,000 award and recipients are chosen based on their responses to an essay question, a statement of academic and career goals and letters of reference. University of Phoenix offers a variety of scholarships, including the First Chance Scholarship Program for older students who have a desire to complete their first bachelors or masters degree. Scholarships are available to adult students aged 23 and older, as well as parents of college-age children who wish to pursue a college degree themselves. The program provides selected students with a full-tuition scholarship to University of Phoenix. Applicants must be nominated by a nonprofit partner organization. While the university, which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), focuses on distance learning (with most students taking classes online), but students can also take class at one of the school's more than 200 campuses nationwide.

The Ragins/Braswell National Scholarship is designed for older students who are planning to pursue a degree at the undergraduate or graduate level. Scholarship amounts vary and are nonrenewable, and all applicants must attend a Scholarship Workshop presentation. Selection is based on a personal essay, extracurricular participation, community service, leadership skills and commitment to completing a college degree.

The Talbots Scholarship Foundation provides scholarship awards to older female students who have completed their GED or high school diploma at least ten years prior to submitting their application. The program is open to women students who plan to enroll in an accredited undergraduate degree program in the U.S. or Canada and have at least two semesters of study remaining. Up to ten $15,000 scholarships and one $30,000 scholarship are awarded annually to selected students.

The Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Grant is available to adult students who are reentering college, enrolling for the first time or enrolling in a career enrichment education program. The program grants awards of $2,500 to selected students who demonstrate financial need as well as an ability to overcome social, economic or physical adversity. Priority is also shown to those students who are responsible for the care of young children.
