Car Grants for Students

Scholarships are available for students who are interested in pursuing careers in the automotive field. Awards can be used to help offset the cost of post-secondary vocational programs or college degree programs. Some scholarships are open only to residents of specific states or to students enrolled in certified auto technician programs.
  1. Car Care Council Women's Board Scholarship

    • Female students who are interested in pursuing a career in the automotive field can apply for a scholarship from the Car Car Council Women's Board. Recent high school graduates who are planning to attend a postsecondary automotive program can receive a $1,000 scholarship. Women who have completed their first year of a post-secondary automotive program can earn a $2,500 scholarship or one of two $1,000 scholarships. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

    Auto Technician Scholarship

    • The California New Car Dealers Association offers a scholarship to students enrolled in a post-secondary auto technician program. Applicants must be California residents with a high school diploma or GED. Graduates of the Automotive Youth Education Systems and current employees of the California New Car Dealers Association are given priority. Recipients of the scholarship must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.

    Washington State Auto Dealers Association

    • One student from eastern Washington and one student from western Washington can win a $2,500 scholarship to help fund their college education. Applicants must submit a short article or press release promoting a charity or charitable event a local car dealership is supporting and design a poster to promote that charity or event. Students must interview members of the dealership and charity and include relevant quotes in their article or press release. Applications must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a teacher or school advisor. All applicants must be high school seniors in Washington state.

    Global Automotive Aftermarket

    • Recent high school graduates who are enrolled in a National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified post-secondary program are eligible to receive a Global Automotive Aftermarket scholarship. Applicants must submit an online application along with a letter of recommendation and a 250-word essay explaining why they deserve to be a scholarship recipient. Approximately one-hundred $1000 scholarships are awarded each year.
