The Dorothy Harris Endowed Scholarship is one option for female students who are interested in pursuing a degree in sports management. Started in 1990 by the Women's Sports Foundation to honor the legacy of Dr. Dorothy Harris, the scholarship is geared toward master's and doctoral students studying sports psychology, sports management, sport sociology or physical education. Awards typically hover around $1,500 and are given to up to three students.
To be considered for the scholarship, students must fill out an application, including a copy of an official transcript and two letters of recommendation. Those selected for the scholarship are required to maintain at least a B average for the duration of that year.

The NCAA's Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics is a program that is geared toward encouraging underrepresented groups to take a more active role in sports. Given to 13 minority students and 13 female students annually, the scholarships are for use during their first postgraduate year of study.
To be eligible applicants must be seeking admission or have already received acceptance to a postgraduate program that deals directly with intercollegiate sports. In order to apply, students must fill out an online application that includes fields about career goals as well as academic performance. Those who receive the award will get a $6,000 scholarship that will be sent directly to the NCAA member institution in which the student is enrolled.

The Institute of Sport Management is one option available to students looking for additional funding for their educational pursuits. Specifically, the organization's ISM Pathways Additional Study Scholarship is geared toward those with sports management training who wish to return to school for additional instruction. Available to ISM Pathways members and associates, the scholarship helps to defray the cost of the particular course.
To apply, applicants must submit a curriculum vitae, a letter outlining what purpose the course will serve in their career, two references and a breakdown of how much the course will cost and the name of a contact at the college or university. Applications will be judged by a selection committee who will then allocate the funds as they see fit.
