Grants for Paramedic Students

While being on call for days at a time, rushing to the scene of an accident, and making life and death decisions aren't part of most people's job descriptions. Paramedic students, on the other hand, willingly provide first-responder care in emergency situations. While the cost of training for paramedics is typically several thousand dollars, numerous grants and scholarships offer partial funding to help paramedic students fulfill their vital roles.

Qualifying applicants who already have EMT certification but are interested in continuing their training to the paramedic level are also eligible. Applicants are eligible if their primary caregiver is an active or retired firefighter, EMT or paramedic, if they will attend a state-approved basic or intermediate EMT or paramedic program, and if they submit an application, one-page essay and two letters of recommendation.
