Paramedic School Grants

A variety of organizations provide financial assistance, in the form of educational grants and scholarships, to students pursuing certification as a paramedic or emergency medical technician. Though some paramedic school grants are available at the national level, most are limited to EMS and EMT students in a particular state or county.
  1. National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians Scholarships

    • The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians administers several national scholarship programs. Students pursuing EMT-Basic certification are eligible for up to $500 in support. Students pursuing EMT-Paramedic certification are eligible for up to $5,000. Paramedics who wish to advance their training are eligible for up to $2,000. Applicants must be active members of the association. Annual deadlines for application fall on June 15 and Sept. 15.

    Nor-Cal EMS Scholarships

    • Northern California Emergency Medical Services provides scholarship assistance to students seeking certification as an EMT or paramedic through the Carl Lindberg Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded in amounts ranging from $150 to $250. These funds may be used to pay for tuition, fees, books, travel and other related costs.

      To be eligible, a student must be a resident of a Northern California county that contracts with Northern California EMS, must be an employee or a volunteer in a rural EMS organization and must be able to demonstrate financial need. The annual deadline for application is the first Friday in March.

    ARAA EMS Scholarships

    • The Arkansas Ambulance Association provides scholarship money to emergency medical service students in Arkansas through the ARAA EMS Scholarship Program. Scholarships up to $750 are awarded to students pursuing EMT-Basic certification, and up to $2,000 for students pursuing EMT-Paramedic certification. A student must be a certified EMT-Basic with at least one year of documented field experience to be eligible for an EMT-Paramedic scholarship. The annual deadline for application is Dec. 4.
