The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi offers grants for undergraduate students to study abroad. Every year, the honor society gives 45 grants in the amount of $1,000. Eligible students must attend a sponsored institution of the honor society, have completed 30 hours of academic education, and have a 3.4 GPA. Applicants are evaluated on awards, campus involvement, and leadership positions within the community. Students must submit an application, a letter of recommendation, and a letter from an accredited study abroad program indicating acceptance.
The Circumnavigators Club Foundation provides grants up to $9,000 to assist undergraduate students in travel projects around the world. Eligible students must be enrolled in a participating university during their junior year
Applicants must submit a completed application, resume, and a proposed travel project which details the relevance to the student's academic education. Finalists will be asked to submit transcripts, faculty recommendations, a final travel project, and partake in an interview by the selection committee.
CIEE offers several study abroad program grants to eligible students. Grants range from $1,000 to $8,000 depending on the scholarship. In general, students must submit a completed application and a 500-word essay that describes the study program, financial need, and educational goals. Some grants may ask for additional information. Selection is based on the application, academic information, transcripts, and evaluations. Eligibility is different for each grant.
John E. Bowman Travel Grants
Grants are available in the amount of $1,000. Eligible students must attend an accredited institution and plan to travel to non-traditional regions such as Africa and Latin America.
Robert B. Bailey Scholarship
Grants in the amount of $1,500 are given to students who belong to an underrepresented group and are members of the CIEE Study Center.
Wollitzer Scholarships
One $2,000 grant is given each year. Students must attend an accredited educational institution and belong to a CIEE Study Center in Asia.
