The Imagine America Foundation provides scholarship money to adult students returning to school through its Adult Skills Education Program (ASEP). These scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,000. These awards may be used study at ASEP participating schools, both traditional and online. Eligible applicants must be at least 21years old, citizens of the United States, and possess a high school diploma or GED. Students without a GED or diploma may be eligible if they can pass an "Ability to Benefit" test. Students must also complete the National Center for Competency Testing Educational Success Potential Assessment in order to qualify for the scholarship. Executive Women International (EWI) provides scholarship funds to both male and female non-traditional students through the Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program. These scholarships are awarded in the amount of $2,500. These scholarships are awarded both by the EWI corporate office, as well as by regional EWI chapters. In order to qualify for a regional ASIST scholarship, a student must be living within the geographical boundaries served by the applicable EWI chapter. Awards are based on financial need and the social, physical and economic challenges faced by the applicant. Application deadlines vary by location.Applications are available on the EWI website.

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) provides two scholarships for returning adult students, the BK Krenzer Memorial Reentry Scholarship and the Olive Lynn Salembier Memorial Reentry Scholarship. Both are awarded in the amount of $2000 each and are available to female students pursuing degrees in any branch of engineering. Students at all levels of study are eligible, and do not need to be enrolled full-time. Students must have been out of school, and out of the engineering and technology workforce, for a minimum of 2 years. Interested students should visit the SWE website for more information.
