Early Graduation Grants

The Early Graduation Grant (EGSG) is a program designed to encourage and reward high school students for graduating early. In order to be eligible for an EGSG, students must be able to graduate at least one semester early from a public or charter school. Organizations that provide the grants include federal and state governments, nonprofits and businesses. Grant amounts range from $1,000 to $2,000.
  1. Arizona Early Graduation Scholarship Grant

    • Arizona’s Early Graduation Scholarship Grant is a non-need-based program designed to encourage secondary education students to graduate high school and attend nationally accredited Arizona post-secondary institutions or vocational programs. The scholarship ranges from $1,500 to $2,800 for approved students.

      To be eligible, a student must be a resident of Arizona for at least the previous 12 months; must graduate from an Arizona public high school or charter school at least one semester earlier than their class is scheduled to graduate; must achieve passing scores on all required components of the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards; and must enroll at least part-time in an accredited Arizona college or vocational school. There are more than 90 institutions in Arizona that students can attend and use their EGSG funds.

    South Carolina Life/Hope Scholarship for Early Graduation

    • The Life/Hope Scholarship for Early Graduation is available to eligible students who complete all requirements for high school graduation prior to the official graduation date in May/June. Legal South Carolina residents must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program and have a 3.0 GPA on the SC Uniform Grading Scale. Students could receive up to $2,800 towards the cost of attendance for their first year of higher education. This scholarship does not have an application. It is automatically given to any South Carolina student attending an approved South Carolina institution.

    Texas Early High School Graduation Scholarship

    • The Texas EGSG program provides tuition and fee assistance to students completing grades nine through 12 early and enables students to attend college in Texas. An eligible student who graduates in less than 36 months will receive $2,000 for the use of tuition and required fees. If the student also graduates with at least 15 semester credit hours of college credit, he may receive an additional $1,000. Applicants must be Texas residents and graduate from a Texas public high school to be eligible for the Texas Early High School Graduation Scholarship.

    Utah Centennial Scholarship

    • Utah’s Centennial Scholarship allows students who graduate from high school at the conclusion of their 11th grade year to be partially reimbursed for tuition in the form of the Early Graduation Centennial Scholarship Certificate. The grant can be used at a Utah public college, university, community college or applied technology center. Students graduating at the end of their 11th grade year receive a full Centennial Scholarship and students graduating at the end of the first quarter of their 12th grade year receive 75 percent of the scholarship amount. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must enroll in an eligible post-secondary institution within one calendar year of graduation.
