How to Get Your GED in DC

The General Educational Developmental Credential (GED) provides alternative opportunities for adults who did not finish high school to receive an equivalent diploma. The GED exam assesses and evaluates an individual's knowledge of standard high school curriculum areas, including language arts, social science, science, math and reading. In Washington, D.C., the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) helps adults prepare for the exam, while the DC GED Testing Center administers the exam itself.
