LPN to RN Bridge Programs in New Jersey

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) who want to become registered nurses (RNs) need to enroll in an LPN-to-RN degree program, then pass the National Council Licensure Examination for RNs (NCLEX-RN) to gain their nursing licenses. In the state of New Jersey, these programs are usually offered in community colleges.
  1. Atlantic Cape Community College

    • A public community college with three campuses in two counties, Atlantic Cape Community College offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree program that requires 66 credits for graduation. LPNs need to complete the Human Anatomy & Physiology II and LPN Nursing Transition courses with a grade of "C" or better in the first semester in order to skip the Nursing I course while getting the eight credits associated with it.

    Burlington County College

    • Burlington County College's associate nursing program requires 70 credits for completion. LPNs looking for advanced placement will need to take either of the two following courses: Fundamentals of Nursing, which consists of seven credits or Nursing of Families, which is nine credits. Completion of one course will fulfill the other course without actually taking it.

LPN students can bypass the Fundamental Concepts of Nursing course and still get the six credits, and they can take advantage of MCCC's partnership with four-year institutions in the area by completing a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program instead.
