Located in the city of Sewell less than 10 miles from the Pennsylvania state border, Gloucester County College offers an LPN to RN program that leads to an associate of science degree in nursing. Current LPNs are eligible to bypass the first year of the two-year nursing program by completing and passing a transition course and lab. If they pass the transition course, LPNs can move on to complete the final two semesters of the degree program, which includes courses like microbiology, transition to practice and nursing issues and trends. All students must undergo a criminal history check to be accepted into the program.

Essex County College is located in Newark and is home to a nursing program that includes several degree options. In addition to their LPN track and a traditional associate of applied science in nursing, the school also includes a special LPN articulation option that allows current LPNs to receive credit for their previous post-secondary and nursing-related courses. In order to be eligible, current LPNs must have completed these college courses within the previous five years and have completed at least six months of full-time LPN work. Additionally, applicants must achieve a passing score on the nursing admissions exam. Once accepted, students must pass two courses (LPN mobility and LPN mobility II) to test out of the first two segments of the degree program. The following three segments are then completed by the student. The two mobility courses and the final three segments take a year and a half to complete.

Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center is located in northeast New Jersey in the city of Plainfield. The medical center's school of nursing offers three tracks to achieve both a diploma in nursing from Muhlenberg and an associate of science degree in nursing from Union County College, which is the partner school for the nursing program. Current LPNs can participate in the LPN to RN transition track, which begins with a full-time transition course that takes three weeks to complete and covers the first segment of the program. After this course, students can challenge the requirements for the second segment of the program by taking a test to prove their skills. For the final two segments, students have the option of taking day or evening classes according to their preference. If the student's general education courses are not covered in their transfer credits, then participants in this track must complete the remaining general education credits at one of Union County College's campuses, which are located in Cranford, Elizabeth and Plainfield. All nursing courses are taught at Muhlenberg and their affiliated sites. The program takes about one year to complete.
