The Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health grants up to nine scholarships each year to incoming students in Johns Hopkins’ Bloomberg School of Public Health. Applicants must demonstrate academic success and interest in global health. All admitted students are eligible to receive the scholarships and there is no separate application. Awards pay full tuition for students in the 11-month Master of Public Health program and one year of tuition for recipients in the two-year Master of Health Science program.

The University of Illinois--Chicago School of Public Health offers the Douglas Passaro Global Horizons Scholarship to support graduate students’ travel for public-health-related field projects in Africa and Latin America. Applicants must be public health graduate students at UIC with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The school awards up to four $3,000 scholarships each year. The award honors the memory of Dr. Douglas James Passaro, a former UIC faculty member who worked to address international public health issues.

The Katie Evans Memorial Scholarship provides up to $3,000 to fund international public health fieldwork projects undertaken by graduate students. Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in at least three credit hours in an educational program related to international public health. The application deadline is in February of each year. Applications must include a project budget and a description of the student's proposed project.

Public health students at the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire are eligible for the annual Amber Star Krenz Memorial Scholarship. The school awards the $500 scholarship to help students study abroad for a semester and explore international health issues. The scholarship is named for Amber Star Krenz, a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire public health student who died in 2001.
