Sutter Scholars Program

• Sutter Health offers scholarship money directly to the children of its employees through the Van R. Johnson Sutter Scholars Program. The amount of awards range from $500 to $4,000, with an average award of $1,800. To be eligible, students must be both a child or dependent of a current Sutter Health employee and a resident of California. The annual deadline for application is in March. Interested students who qualify for the Van R. Johnson Sutter Scholars Program should contact Sutter Health for more information.

Mills-Peninsula Health Services Financial Aid Scholarship Program

• Mills-Peninsula Health Services, an affiliate of Sutter Health, provides scholarship money to students pursuing health-related degrees through its Financial Aid Scholarship Program. To be eligible, a student must either be a current Mills-Peninsula employee or have been a resident of San Mateo County for at least one year. Applicants must submit a statement of career goals, academic transcripts, appropriate tax forms, two letters of recommendation and an application form. The annual deadline for application is Feb. 28. Interested students should visit the Mills-Peninsula Health Services website for more information and to download an electronic application.

Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region Nursing Scholarship

• The Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region Nursing Scholarship is awarded annually to students of Sierra College. Five awards of $2,000 each are available. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time in a nursing program at Sierra College and must have a grade-point average of at least 3.0. Students also must be residents of Placer, Sacramento, Yolo or El Dorado counties. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and career plans after graduation.
