Undergraduate Health Scholarships

If you are interested in studying for an undergraduate health degree, your planning should include ways to pay for your education. Sometimes financial aid and grants are not enough to cover the costs of textbooks, laboratory fees and dormitory fees. You will need extra funding to help cover these costs. That means applying for scholarships. Scholarships do not have to be paid back. They are an award for your academic excellence or for your contribution to society.
  1. NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program

    • The National Institutes of Health issues scholarships for undergraduate health students. This program offers scholarships to students who come from disadvantage backgrounds and are studying biomedical, behavior and social science. This program will offer scholarship support, paid research training at the NIH during the summer and paid employment and training at the NIH after graduation. Students will receive up to $20,000 per academic year for tuition, educational expenses or living expenses. Eligibility requirements include being a United States citizen, being enrolled as a full-time student for the academic year and coming from a disadvantaged background. A disadvantaged background means having exceptional financial needs, according to the NIH website. Students also should have a GPA of 3.5 or above.
