Registered Nurse Anesthetist Schools

Certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) attend to patients’ needs before, during and after surgical procedures by providing anesthetic services similar to those provided by anesthesiologists. CRNA education is based in nursing theory and requires at least one year of nursing experience in a critical care setting, such as the intensive care unit. Applicants should check the list of accredited programs on the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists website to ensure that their programs of interest have current accreditation.
