Paralegal Masters Programs

Paralegals help lawyers do their jobs. There are several ways to train to be a paralegal, including by getting a master's degree. This is a good option if you already have a bachelor's degree. Relatively few universities offer a master's degree in paralegal studies, but many offer a bachelor's degree or certificate program.

    Degree vs. Certificate Programs

    • If your long-term goal is to become a lawyer, an MA degree may better prepare you for law school. Although the credits you earn will not be transferable, you may get a preview of some course work that will be required in law school. If your career goal is the paralegal profession, you should investigate master's and bachelor's degree and certificate programs before choosing the program that is right for you. Certification is required to be a paralegal, and some firms require that their paralegals have a BA degree.
