Environmental management is the regulation of environmental health; it involves taking the proper steps to promote a positive environment. Master's degree programs in environmental management provide students with an in depth education on different aspects of the environment and how the different resources and activities have an impact on the environment throughout the world.

    • Yale University has a Master of Environmental Management degree program that is designed for students who have an interest in careers that include environmental policy and analysis, consulting, education, stewardship or management. The curriculum in this program consists of seven required courses. Students must choose one course from seven foundational areas that include earth and climate science; information and data analysis; policy, institutions and law; sustainable development and social ecology; economics; environmental health and urban and industrial ecosystems; and ecosystem science and biodiversity.

    University of Maryland University College

    • The University of Maryland University College has a master of science degree program in environmental management. This program is designed to prepare students to work in a variety of settings within environmental management and the curriculum consists of 12 courses. Required courses include fundamentals of environmental systems, land use management, land and water resource management, environmental communications and reporting, watershed planning management and principles of air quality management.

    Harvard University

    • Harvard University has a master's degree program in sustainability and environmental management that is designed as an educational tool that compliments the student's professional expertise in this field. There are two choices for concentration within the degree program which are ecological management and sustainable development. Courses include environmental management, strategies for sustainability management, sustainable ocean environments and introduction to sustainable development.
