    • New York University offers students the opportunity to earn a Master of Science in Tourism Management. The curriculum focuses on expanding skills such as research, planning, and strategy. The program consists of nine core courses and a capstone research seminar. Students may complete the program on a full- or part-time basis. New York University also offers a Graduate Certificate in Tourism and Travel Management.

    University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

    • Graduate students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign can earn a Master of Science in Tourism Management. Students may complete the program with or without having to write a thesis. The thesis option consists of 12 credit hours of core requirements, 16 credit hours of restricted elective, and eight credit hours for thesis research. Students choosing the non-thesis option will complete 24 credit hours of core requirements, eight credit hours of restricted electives, and a professional paper. The Department of Recreation, Sports and Tourism also offers a doctorate program.

    Temple University

    • Temple University, located in Philadelphia, offers students the Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management program. The degree program focuses on the theoretical basis of tourism and hospitality as well as the practical application of management techniques. Graduate students looking to continue their education even further may also choose to earn a Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in tourism management.

    Indiana University

    • Indiana University provides graduate students the opportunity to earn a master's degree in recreation with an emphasis in tourism management. Students will complete a set of core and specialized courses leading up to a final capstone experience. For the capstone requirement, students will choose from a master's project, thesis or graduate internship. During this program, classes take place at both the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses.

    North Carolina State University

    • Through the College of Natural Resources, graduate students at North Carolina State University can earn a Master of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. The nationally recognized program focuses on the theory and research of leisure and recreation. Students will choose to emphasize their degree in tourism management, recreation, or sports management. Students will complete specialized courses in their area of emphasis as well as a research seminar and master thesis. North Carolina State University also offers an online master's program, a dual master's program, as well as a Ph.D. program in parks, recreation and tourism management.
