While the university offers many different areas of concentration including biology of brain and behavior, cognitive neuroscience, perception, social and personality and developmental, the clinical psychology program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is highly regarded as one of the top five graduate programs in the country, consistently. Like the University of Washington clinical psychology program, the graduate program at Wisconsin-Madison is also mentor-based. Applicants are admitted into the graduate program depending on how closely their interests and qualifications match the current faculty interests and qualifications, and areas of specialty. According to the department at the university, a student who is not deeply committed to research will not be a good match for this graduate program.
