Summer Programs for Pre-College Students

Graduating from high school gives students plenty of free time during the summer, which is a perfect time to look into a summer program. The top universities offer plenty of summer programs that can help jump-start college educations. Students can begin to learn what a college education is about by attending an Ivy League school, a private college or a public university in the summer.
  1. Columbia University

    • Columbia provides 9th through 12th graders and students entering college the opportunity to attend a summer program in New York City, Barcelona and the Middle East. They learn about college life, make friends with students from around the world and discover other cultures, while being able to say that they studied at a top university. Tuition ranges from $3,625 to $12,750 depending on the location of study in 2010. New York City students have the opportunity to live on campus and take part in extracurricular activities. Middle East students have a low student to teacher ratio.
