The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture offers a rigorous summer session. Students can choose to enter the full seven-week program, which includes a two-week drawing or painting marathon and a five-week atelier class, or they can choose to enroll in either the marathon or the atelier class. Both portions of the summer session require students to work in the studios from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students can choose to take a drawing, painting or sculpture marathon with current NYSS faculty or visiting artists. The marathons meet in the school's studios or in outside locations, such as Union Square, Long Island, Governors Island or a New Jersey Arboretum. Students can then choose to take an atelier class in drawing, painting or sculpture.
