College Summer Leadership Programs

Although many young adults spend summer relaxing by a pool, staying up late or tanning on a beach, some college students choose to spend their summer improving their resume or gaining work experience. One way to do this is to attend a summer leadership program. These programs generally require students to stay in residence halls or a shared campground, perform group activities and gain experience in a desired career field.
  1. Diversity Leadership Program

    • The Diversity Leadership Program is an annual summer leadership program sponsored by career search engine Monster. This program helps college students find enjoyable and successful careers in their field. Students work with trained professionals, gain work experience and network with others in the field. The program is competitive, generally admitting only top-tier students, but participation is free to all those accepted. In addition, accepted students are eligible to win scholarship prizes, according to the program's website. The programs are held in nine cities throughout the United States, and although exact dates vary, the program is always offered during the summer.
