The Medical School at the University of Massachusetts has a four-week residential program for undergraduate sophomores and juniors interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. The program is free and open to U.S citizens and permanent residents who attended a Massachusetts high school or who currently attends college in Massachusetts. The program's purpose is to help participants improve their qualifications and competitive standing for admission to medical, graduate or professional schools. Participants stay in housing provided by local colleges.

The five-week intensive residential program at the School of Social Sciences at the University of California Irvine is designed to enhance the learning experience of first generation college students. The participants are required to participate for seven days a week for five weeks. They receive academic support and tutoring for the duration of the program. Participants take three courses in research methods, statistical analysis, and writing and communications. Participants get 12 credits towards graduation.
Eligibility requirements include completion of 36 units with a 2.8 grade point average in social science classes, completion of the lower level writing requirement, and enrollment at the university for the school year following completion of the summer program. Application submission begins at the beginning of February, and all applications must be in by the end of February. Interviews take place the second week in March.

The two-week summer enrichment program at the Summer Engineering Institute at Canada College is funded by a grant from the U.S Department of Education. It is open to high school seniors that will be engineering majors in the fall at Canada College or San Francisco State University, current engineering students at Canada College, and any engineering students from any San Francisco Bay Area community college transferring to San Francisco State University.
The purpose of the program is to give participants real-world experience in the engineering field. There is classroom instruction, company tours, guest speakers and recreational activities. Participants also complete a group project. The application deadline falls during the second week of May, and successful applicants are notified at the end of May. All participants receive room, board and all meals.
