New York Junior Colleges

Junior colleges, often referred to as community colleges, are two-year colleges that offer associate's degrees that are transferable toward a bachelor's degree at a four-year college, or occupational degrees and certificates. Students may choose to attend junior colleges because they are usually less expensive than four-year schools, so general education requirements can be fulfilled at a reduced cost. They may also choose junior college as a fast-track option toward a career. Among many schools in the state of New York, students have numerous junior colleges from which to choose.
