This two-year school, associated with the State University of New York (SUNY), is the largest school of its type in Buffalo. Associate degrees are offered in four basic fields of study--liberal arts, business, engineering/technology or health sciences--with emphases ranging from computer science to dental hygiene. Shorter occupational certificate programs include court reporting, EMT/paramedic, web design and more. Courses are held on three campuses located around the city; there also are some off-campus courses and some courses online. This school has credit transfer agreements with numerous area colleges and universities.

This small, private, two-year institution in south Buffalo initially began as a nursing and health care school for the Sisters of Mercy order, eventually expanding into a coeducational and comprehensive curriculum--although health care career training is still a large focus of the school. Associate degrees and certificates are offered in fields that include business administration, massage therapy, nursing and liberal arts. Most programs are occupational, but liberal arts credits are transferable toward a bachelor's degree at numerous schools with which Trocaire has transfer agreements.

Located about 30 minutes north of Buffalo, this two-year college is part of the SUNY system, offering certificates and/or associate degrees in fields of life sciences, social sciences, business, arts/media and more. Students can focus on specific career emphases that include culinary arts, criminal justice, audio recording and environmental studies. Credit transfer and dual-admission agreements are in place with numerous four-year colleges for students wishing to continue toward a bachelor's degree.
