Athens' Miami University offers a Sports Studies program throught its Education Department. Undergraduate students interested in fields such as sports psychology may pursue the school's Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and health. Students wishing to earn such a degree must enroll as pre-majors within the department in order to be eligible to major in the coursework. Within the program, students are provided a multidisciplinary approach to sports studies by focusing on history, sociology and psychology as they relate to the sports field.

Bowling Green State University's School of Human Movement, Sport and Leisure Studies offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the field of sports psychology. The department is split into two educational divisions: kinesiology and sport management, recreation and tourism. In the kinesiology program, students can earn undergraduate degrees with necessary coursework in sports psychology. At the graduate level, students who complete an application, take the GRE, submit their resumes and three letters of recommendation can pursue sports and exercise psychology at a higher level of learning in the field of human movement.
