The zoology department at Ohio Wesleyan University, located in the central town of Delaware, offers a zoology major with five optional branches. Each maintains the same core classwork, then allows students to combine zoology with genetics, medicine, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or environmental work. The department maintains updated technology equipment --- including digital imaging devices and laboratory microscopes --- and helps students secure apprenticeships at the local Stratford Ecological Center and the nearby Columbus Zoo. The department gives out several scholarships and awards annually.
