The Bachelor of Science in Zoology at Kent State University is 121 credit hours, which includes 42 credit hours of upper division courses. Miami University offers a bachelor's degree in zoology that combines general education requirements, core zoology courses, and research and laboratory opportunities. Students in the program learn about insects, birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Students can work at the Department of Zoology during the academic year or during the summer and perform office duties, conduct experiments and care for animals. There is also a 1,000-acre outdoor wildlife reserve adjacent to campus that contains farm ponds, streams, grasslands and forests.

Ohio Wesleyan University's Zoology Department allows students to specialize in a number of areas including teaching, research, biomedical engineering and environmental work. All specializations require students to complete core courses in animal reproduction, evolution, tropical biology, invertebrate zoology, animal behavior, marine biology and immunology.
