The Steinhardt School at New York University aims to train young singers for careers in recital and concert performance. Although this program can be ideal for singers who have a passion for classically training their vocal chords in opera through the Bachelor of Music program, the graduates of The Steinhardt School have also built careers in popular music as well as musical theater. The voice faculty as of August 2010 includes off-Broadway director and playwright William Wesbrooks and Mezzo-soprano Dianna Heldman.
