How to Cite a Brochure in APA

The American Psychological Association style guide is frequently used in academic institutions and psychological research journals. Like other style guides, the APA has its own format for citing references and resources. Citing a brochure or pamphlet is the same as citing a book, except you'll include the term "Brochure" in brackets. Information not listed on the brochure, such as the author, is omitted from the citation.

Instructions

    • 1

Examine the brochure carefully. Locate the title of the brochure, which is usually found on the front, and then locate the company or group that published the brochure. This is usually on the back.

    • 2

Locate the year of publication on the front or back, as well as the edition number, if applicable.

    • 3

Examine the brochure to determine if an author is listed. Make a note of the information you have collected from the brochure.

    • 4

Cite the brochure as follows to adhere to APA citation guidelines: Name of company or group. (Year). Name of brochure in italics (Edition Number, if applicable.) [Brochure]. Author Last Name, Author First Name: Author.
