How to Reference a Brochure in APA Style

Brochures are used as resources in a variety of research papers. Brochures can be written by a single author, but are more commonly written by an organization or business. As a single published document, as in not part of a journal or book, you do need to note that it is a brochure. The American Psychological Association manual asks for only a few basic details to cite a brochure as a resource.

Instructions

    • 1

Include the author of the brochure and the publishing date in a parenthetical in-text citation. Example: (Microsoft, 2011).

    • 2

Search the brochure to find the publisher of the brochure, the place the brochure was published, the author, brochure title and the date the brochure was first published.

    • 3

Cite the brochure in order of author, date, title and publishing house. Example: Microsoft Human Resources (2011). Employee Policy Brochure. [Brochure]. Chicago: Brochure Publishing House.
