The Sahli-Woodall Scholarship Program provides a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating minority high school student who plans to major in education at a college or university in Tennessee. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, leadership skills, community service and commitment to a career in teaching. Students must be recommended by a member of the Tennessee Education Association to be considered.

The University of Tennessee at Knoxville offers the Diversity Engineering Scholarship Program to undergraduate African-American students pursuing degrees in engineering. The program allows these students to receive up to $46,000 over the course of a four-year degree through a combination of scholarship awards and paid positions at co-op engineering internships.

The Tennessee Tech Diversity Fellowship Program provides full tuition scholarships and a monthly stipend to minority students pursuing graduate studies at the university. In return, recipients must teach a minimum of twenty hours per week and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants are selected on the basis of minority or underrepresented population status, academic achievement and commitment to pursuing graduate studies.

The Pilot Oil Corporation Minority Scholarship program provides scholarship awards to incoming freshman minority students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Preference is given to students who are residents of the Knoxville area although all applicants will be considered equally on the basis of academic, leadership skills, community service and financial need.
