The Iowa Nurses Foundation provides scholarships to members of the Iowa Nurses Assocation who are pursuing nursing degrees at different levels. Students who have completed at least fifty percent of an RN or BSN degree are eligible to receive $500. Students at the masters or doctoral level who have completed at elast twelve semester hours are eligible to receive $1,000. Both awards are contingent on the student's intent to pursue a nursing position in the state of Iowa.

The Iowa Health Care Association Foundation provides scholarships to employees of the association and the Iowa Center for Assisted Living who are pursuing degrees in nursing, physical therapy or related fields. Students who plan to work specifically in the field of long-term care are eligible to apply for the $1,000 award.

The Health Resources and Services Administration seeks to increase the number of nurses at facilities that are severely understaffed. The program provides full tuition scholarships to Iowa nursing students as well as a monthly stipend in exchange for a two-year commitment of service at an underserved healthcare facility in the state. Only students with the greatest degree of financial need will be considered for the program.

The 100 Great Iowa Nurses Scholarship is available to students pursuing nursing degrees at the associates, bachelors, masters or doctoral level. Students pursuing degrees at the associates or bachelors degree levels are eligible to receive $500 awards while students at the graduate or post-graduate level may receive $1,500. Both awards are granted with the expectation that recipients will assume nursing positions in the state of Iowa after graduation.

The Justine E. Granner Memorial Scholarship is available to minority students who are pursuing degrees in nursing or public health at Iowa colleges and universities. To be considered for the $1,000 award, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better and be recommended by their pastor, a school counselor and a community leader who can attest to the students involvement in church, school and community activities respectively.
