Scholarships for Minority Undergraduates

There are many scholarships available to minority students, making college more affordable and putting it within reach for more people. There are scholarships for specific areas of study, merit-based awards for bright students and need-based grants for low-income students. It's just a matter of finding the right scholarship for you.
  1. Alliance Data Scholarship

    • The Alliance Data Scholarship, worth $5,000, is offered to a deserving minority student by Alliance Data in partnership with the United Negro College Fund. To qualify, you must be an undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA at a UNCF member school in the Dallas, Texas, metropolitan area.

    HSF/ General College Scholarship

    • Offered to students of Latino heritage by the Hispanic College Fund, applicants also must be a full-time student pursuing their first associate's, bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university. They also must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and fill out the Free Application for Student Aid. The award is $1,000 to $5,000.

    APIASF Scholarship

    • This scholarship is offered to a student of Asian descent by the Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund. To qualify, applicants must be a U.S. citizen in their first year at an accredited college or university. Applicants also must be attending school full time and have a cumulative 2.7 GPA. The award is $2,500-$5,000.

    Allogan Slagle Memorial Scholarship

    • The Association of American Indian Affairs offers this scholarship to Native Americans who are from tribes that are not recognized by the U.S. government. To qualify, you must provide proof of your tribal status. The award is $1,500, distributed directly to the student's college in installments of $750 in the fall and spring semesters. The spring payment is contingent on satisfactory academic progress.
