Scholarships for Students Entering College

The United States College Board reports that as of 2010, there were more than 2,300 sources of financial aid available to college students. Scholarships are used to pay for a part or all of college tuition, and sometimes room and board, as well. Monies received from scholarships typically do not have to be repaid. Public and private organizations offer scholarships to eligible first-year college students.
