The Child Care Services Association of North Carolina sponsors the T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship program which provides education funding to students who are seeking associates or bachelors degrees in early childhood education or early childhood credentials. Students who are currently employed in early childhood education or care facilities may apply for the awards and all employers are required to match funds provide by CCSA. Students are eligible to receive fifty to ninety percent tuition funding depending on individual need and employer match.

The North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program provides up to $6,500 per academic year to graduating high school seniors who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a participating North Carolina college or university. Students are selected on the basis of their academic record, SAT scores, writing samples, community service, extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation. As a condition of the award, recipients are required to teach in the North Carolina public school system for a period of one year for each year funding is received.

The North Carolina Prospective Teacher Scholarship Program is open to incoming and currently enrolled students who are pursuing education degrees at selected North Carolina colleges and universities. High school applicants must be recommended by a member of their school's faculty and all students must meet minimum academic requirements. Incoming freshmen and sophomores are eligible to receive $2,500 per academic year while juniors and seniors may receive up to $4,000. Applications are accepted online only.

East Carolina University's College of Education offers numerous scholarship awards for education majors, including the Pat and Lyn Lane Education Scholarship. The program offers a two-year scholarship to rising juniors who are majoring in special education, middle and high school math and sciences or music education. Selected students will receive $10,000 in scholarship funding and in exchange, they must agree to teach for a minimum of two years after graduation in an approved North Carolina public school district.

The North Carolina MIllennium Teacher Scholarship Program is open to graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll in education or teaching programs at Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University or Winston-Salem State University. Applicants must have a verifiable financial need and meet minimum academic requirements. Selected students will receive up to $6,500 per year for up to four years in return for teaching in a North Carolina public school for a minimum of one year after graduation.
