Named in honor of interior designer Don Brinkmann, this scholarship is awarded to students entering their final year of a Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA)-certified interior design program. The winner also receives an internship at the Gensler design firm.
Each year, a handful of undergraduate students are picked to be Beinecke fellows. Each fellow receives $4,000 shortly before entering graduate school, then $30,000 while attending classes.
Available to high school seniors, this scholarship is awarded to five artists in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $20,000.
This scholarship awards up to $5,000 for study-related travel to current students and recent graduates who are pursuing independent projects in architecture, architectural history or urban studies. Grants cannot be used toward an organized study abroad program, but can be used for an independent study project pursued as part of a degree.
The Art Renewal Center offers $30,000 in annual scholarships based solely on the merit of the artist. Although open to all visual artists, the center emphasizes realistic representations of nature that are reflected in areas such as figurative studies, landscapes, portrait and still lives.
Available to fifth year or master's students in an architectural program, this $10,000 scholarship is awarded to one student annually, based primarily on the quality of the student's work. The winning student also receives an internship in the offices of the architecture firm Zimmer Gunsul Frasca.
The National Art Materials Trade Association awards a handful of scholarships each year to students majoring or planning to major in the visual arts, such as painting, sculpture, drawing and collage. Students must submit three samples of their work.
This scholarship offers a $500 to $1,000 tuition credit to a full-time undergraduate architecture student. The award is given based on the quality of the student's portfolio and financial need, with a preference given to minority students.
This scholarship is open to high school and college students who work in digital art, including graphic design, 3-D rendering and photo manipulation. Students send in samples of their work for judging. One high school student from each state receives a $500 scholarship, while one college student from each region receives a $1,200 scholarship.
