Minority Art Scholarships

A degree in art can provide young artists with the education and training necessary to launch a successful professional career, but it can also present a significant challenge in terms of the cost. There are a number of scholarship programs available for young artists, including minority art students, that can help make a degree in art more affordable and attainable.
  1. Iowa State University Art and Design Excellence Scholarships for Minority Students

    • Iowa State University's College of Art and Design sponsors a scholarship program for outstanding minority students majoring in art and design. Students must be of African-American, Hispanic or Native American descent and be enrolled in at least their second semester of study at the university.

All applicants must be in good academic standing and awards are granted on the basis of individual artistic ability and financial need. Scholarship awards may be renewed for up to three additional years of study pending the student's satisfactory artistic and academic progress. The number and amount of awards granted each year varies.
