Art, Music & Theater Scholarships

A variety of scholarships are available to students who are pursuing a degree in the performing arts or the fine arts. Scholarships for art, music and theater students are available from a range of different organizations, including associations of performers, as well as producers of art equipment. Art scholarships are usually only for students in a specific discipline.
  1. Krylon Clear Choice Art Scholarship

    • Krylon, a company that manufactures art supplies, makes scholarships available to art studentsthrough the Krylon Clear Choice Art Scholarship. The Clear Choice Art Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,000. This scholarship also provides recipients with a gift package of Krylon sprays and adhesives, and also provides the recipient's school with a large gift package and a $500 grant. Ten scholarships are awarded each year. Clear Chice Art Scholarships are not renewable. The annual deadline for application is May 31.     ASCAP Foundation Scholarships

    • The ASCAP Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to college students pursuing a career in music. The Charlotte V. Bergen Scholarship is awarded to a student 18 or younger to defray the cost of music study at an accredited conservatory or university in the United States. The Louis Armstrong Scholarship is awarded to support a student who is pursuing a degree in music at Queens College in New York. The Rudy Perez Songwriting Scholarship is awarded annually to a student of Hispanic/Latino origin who shows promise as a songwriter.     Educational Theatre Association Scholarships

    • The Educational Theatre Association provides makes several scholarships available to drama and theater students. The Robert L. Johnson/Hector S. Cruz Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $2,000 to a student pursuing a degree in acting or technical theater. The Melba Day Henning Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $4,500 to a student preparing for a career as a theater educator. A variety of other scholarships are available in amounts ranging from $1,500 to $2,500. Deadlines vary by scholarship.
