This grant is tenable at New York University's College of Nursing, and is specifically offered to future NPs who wish to work in the field of HIV/AIDS nursing. All potential applicants must maintain good academic standing and submit an essay describing his passion for caring for HIV/AIDS patients. Funds of varying amounts are only available for a single year or semester.

NP students who are legal residents of and licensed to practice as registered nurses in the state of New York, are eligible to apply for the Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program. The awards are competitive and offered to students who are interested in becoming nurse educators or clinical faculty, and will require the student to be employed in the state of New York as nursing faculty for four years after graduation. The program supports students for up to three years of graduate study, up to $20,000 per years or the equivalent cost of college attendance at the State University of New York.

These funds are targeted to students of genuine financial need or those from minority groups. Amounts range from $1000-$5000 a year and are provided to graduate nursing students at schools in New York State. Students must prove residency in the state of New York and will be supported for up to four years.
