Foreign Military Sales Contract Training

Foreign military sales from U.S. companies is a complicated area and rules are subject to change rapidly. Overviews are available but ongoing training is a necessity. Private institutions and the U.S. government provide a broad range of training and education.
  1. Seminars

    • Two-day seminars covering the basics of foreign military sales are hosted by Federal Publications Inc., approximately once a month in rotating cities. The cost of these seminars is approximately $1,000 per participant (as of January 2011).

    • The curriculum for any basic instruction in this area should cover U.S. law and policy, the export process, fees and commissions. Additionally, they should cover the process for seeking and obtaining State Department clearance for exports.

    Additional Training

    • The U.S. government through the Defense Security Cooperation Agency offers additional and ongoing educational opportunities.
